We’ve explained that he has to wait until after his birthday (December), and Christmas, and N’s birthday (January) - THEN he can go to Kinder, but he just can’t wait…

Anyone have any tips to help a nearly 4 year old grasp the concept of time????

Last night I was speaking at a dinner for The Red Tent Woman & it was a fantastic evening. I arrived home around 11pm and the boys were sound asleep.

Around 5.30 this morning, Z came into my bed smelling of a leaking nappy. I took his pyjama pants off, to find he wasn’t wearing a nappy! I had assumed my brother, who was babysitting, knew Z still wore a night nappy….  Oh well, something to remember for next time.

On the plus side, though, Z is starting to show an interest in wearing undies to bed… so maybe soon I’ll be saying goodbye to nappies all together :)

I believe the official estimate is 1 in 10 mothers, however the real figures would be a lot higher as many mothers go undiagnosed. Too many mothers are told they need to cope on their own and that asking for help is a sign they are a bad mother. Many other mothers ask for help and don’t receive it, either because it is not available or there is too long a waiting list for services.

On Sunday 18 November in Melbourne, there is a Walk 4 PND to raise awareness about post natal depression and the associated services. If you are in Melbourne, come along. The event is free, followed by a family picnic.

The walk also marks the start of PND week. So keep an eye out in your local area for any other events associated with post natal depression and support them.

Last night we proofed the conference handbook and it’s looking AMAZING!  Donna-Marie is editing it for us and Michelle has created an amazing cover.  It contains information on all the sessions and a bit about the presenters, a business directory in the back and heaps of space to take notes.

The Expo is also coming together.  I can see that I’m likely to finish my Christmas Shopping there :)  It’s free to come along if you’re in Melbourne, pop in.  (Holmesglen Conference Centre, Cnr Batesford & Warrigal Rds, Chadstone).

We also chose the menu for the dinner last night.  It was hard to choose - all the dishes sound really yummy.  I can’t wait to taste it.  Chocolate pudding… yummo :)

I still find it hard to believe the conference is so close.

We went through the garage and 2 sheds - filling a skip with rubbish & putting more on the front lawn.  We put 3 office chairs out on the nature strip, my brothers bet they wouldn’t last the day - but they were gone in 20 minutes! 

Mum kept looking at things and goind down memory lane, including all our baby cards, her engagement & wedding cards, stuff from school and church, and a menagerie of puppets Mum had made, and so much more!  It’s amazing the amount of stuff they have accumulated over the years.

The garage and sheds are now clear of junk and the garage now has boxes and furniture ready to be moved.  Z is really excited cos his "new" bed is ready to go to the new house and is waiting in the garage :)

1. I am a WAHM (der I hear you all say!  lol)

2. I don’t drink coffee.  I loved it when I was about 7, but was banned from drinking it cos I was too young.  When I was deemed old enough, I just didn’t like it.
