It seems like forever since I’ve posted!

13 04 2007

So much has happened this week.

First - my office is no longer in the loungeroom (yay!).  I’ve moved to the bungalow, so it’s a bit harder to get on the puter all day & night - but it will make a HUGE difference to business.  Hopefully in a positive way.

Second - we’ve all been sick!  Z had a tummy bug for 2 days, then I had it, now N has it.  If any dares say ...

Kids birthday parties

2 04 2007

There was a discussion on The Catch Up just now about kids parties.  They were talking about a home party rather than a venue, and about how easy it is to have a party at a venue.

Here’s my view.  My 5 year old has a gluten intollerance and party venue’s don’t cater for him.  All the food has gluten in it, including lollies in the lolly bags.  For us, it’s easier and cheaper to ...

Something Old

2 04 2007

I’m taking part in the Business Mums Blog Challenge this week.  Wish me luck!

According to my kids, I am old.  I’m all of 29 years old, but according to them I’m old.

It’s funny how things are relative.  Not that long ago, I thought 29 was old.  I can remember as a child insisiting my mother was 21 - I thought that was old!  How wrong was I.

These days, 29 is not old to be ...

Uses for eye make up remover

25 03 2007

Following Ns make up job for his dressup day on Thursday, the boys were in the bath.

Both boys had temporary tattoos on that they received at a birthday party last Sunday - Z had his on his tummy (his arm was too small!) and N had two on his arm.

I got the eye makeup remover out to remove N’s make up beard - after all, it was eye liner.  I removed his beard successfully and ...

Damn those screw-top wine bottles!

25 03 2007

OK, so I should have posted this on Thursday, but didn’t! lol

It was Harmony Day, so Ns much wanted dress up day.  The idea was that kids dress in a National Outfit, or dress in orange.  The only thing I could think of for Australia was a swaggy.  So, we found a checked shirt (it was 35degrees, so flanellette was out!), but he refused to wear his orange one, so we settled for blue.  And ...

Cheapskate Tooth Fairy

6 03 2007

One one forum I’m on, our Tooth Fairy has been accused of being a Cheapskate because she only brings N 50cents per tooth.  So, I thought I would publicly defend our Tooth Fairy to those who give $2, $5 or even $10 a tooth!

It’s simple - N likes "big monies".  $2 coins are way too small, and notes aren’t "real monies".  As far as N is concerned, a 50cent coin is the biggest "monies" you ...

Mixing up names…

6 03 2007

I have a confession - from the day Z was born, I have mixed up N & Zs names!  I often call one of them by the other’s name - and then get frustrated when the one I want doesn’t answer!

I’m coming to realise this is just part of being the parent of more than 1 child!  Either that or it’s hereditary…

My Dad would always mix up the names of me & my siblings!  By ...

Managing without a car

3 03 2007

onehautemama asked in my School Photo’s how I manage without a car.  It’s mostly that I don’t own a car - I do have access to my parents car if I really need one.

However, school is about a 7 minute walk from home, and daycare is a 20 minute walk.  Last year kinder was also a 7 minute walk.  We have a fantastic group of shops near us that includes a ...

Why do I have my MumSpace?

1 03 2007

This is part of the Business Mums Network blogging challenge.

Why do I MumSpace?  Simple really.  Mostly it’s for fun, and to share with you stuff about me and my kids, and occasionally my business :)

Also because I do have a muddled mind, and needed somewhere fun to let it all out.  After all, some of this stuff is not appropriate for a business blog…

Why do I read other MumSpaces?  ...

I’m in the newsletter…

23 02 2007

Woo Hoo!  I’m featured in the first ever MumSpace newsletter.  Hi to all the new readers who found my MumSpace :)

You’ll soon find out how sad I really am…  I get excited over seeing my name in a newsletter, my ad on a website, or basically seeing my name anywhere…  My kids are also very funny, and they get up to some silly things (N is insisting his next tooth ...
