Why is it that kids can’t be hungry at the same time? Every morning, one kid is hungry as soon as he gets up, and the other his hungry an hour later!

Z starts Kinder in the New Year.  A few weeks ago we went to an Open Day for the new Kinder families, and since then, that’s all he wants to do - go to Kinder! We’ve explained that he has to wait until after his birthday (December), and Christmas, and N’s birthday (January) - THEN he can go to Kinder, but he just can’t wait…

Anyone have any tips to help a nearly 4 year old ...

Last night I was speaking at a dinner for The Red Tent Woman & it was a fantastic evening. I arrived home around 11pm and the boys were sound asleep.

Around 5.30 this morning, Z came into my bed smelling of a leaking nappy. I took his pyjama pants off, to find he wasn’t wearing a nappy! I had assumed my brother, who was babysitting, knew Z still wore a night ...

Z is obsessed with Thomas the Tank Engine. As a result I know way too much about Thomas. So much so that I am speaking tonight at The Red Tent Woman dinner in Williamstown on Business Lessons from Thomas, based on a post on my other blog!

It’s days like this I wish I had a daughter with a Barbie obsession - that’s something I can relate to…

During the school holidays, I took the boys to Officeworks because I needed some stationary, including a guillotine.  They boys were misbehaving quite a bit, and I was getting tired of them mucking around.  I was also worried they would knock over all the displays!

N spotted the guillotine as we were going through the check out and asked me what it was.  My reply "It’s something to cut the fingers off little boys who are ...

Shock horror!  It’s 7.21 and the boys are still asleep    Usually they are up at 6 & I’m begging them to go back to sleep! 

Someone, please tell me what I did differently so they can repeat this.  I was up at 7 cos of the pets wanting to be fed.  Seven am is a much more reasonable time than 6.

An update

Z is feeling under the weather.  He got up & informed ...

N got his first school report today - and I am very proud.  He is right on track in most areas, and ahead in others.  The one that confuses me most is sport!  He is above average… his mother has no interest in sport whatsoever…  Ahhh, so that’s where my sporting ability went - to my son

With the freezing cold weather in Melbourne this week, the boys each decided they wanted a footy scarf!  So, guess what - I’ve decided to knit them each a scarf in their team colours.  Z likes the Geelong Cats and N likes the Sydney Swans (because they are red!).  Thankfully in our searching, we came across a partly done scarf that Oma started a few years ago for my brother.  It’s in ...

That is all I am asking - just 2 minutes without a fight!  I know N & Z are tired when they come home - but why must they intentionally get on each others nerves?  And mine!  I can’t even spell right atm…

Z and I had a lovely evening :)   In the lead up to the night, de decided he wanted "Lemon Squashed" to drink, and wasn’t too fussed about the food…

Walking to the restaurant, he was a perfect gentleman - holding my hand the whole way.

At dinner, he was well behaved, sitting there telling me all about how lemons are squashed - complete with actions!

At the end of the night - I even got a kiss ...
