During the school holidays, I took the boys to Officeworks because I needed some stationary, including a guillotine.  They boys were misbehaving quite a bit, and I was getting tired of them mucking around.  I was also worried they would knock over all the displays!

N spotted the guillotine as we were going through the check out and asked me what it was.  My reply "It’s something to cut the fingers off little boys who are misbehaving"! 

They boys were angels until we got them in the car.

Ten minutes down the road, N suddenly comes out with "But how will they hold things?"  We had been singing to the radio and talking about footy, so I didn’t get what he was talking about.  When I asked him to explain he said - "When you cut off their fingers, how will they hold things?"

This put me in fits of laughter.  He had obviously been mulling over what I said about the guillotine and just couldn’t work things out.

I love the way 5 year old boys minds work sometimes
