I have a date tonight.  It’s been ages since I’ve been on a date.

I plucked up the courage and asked him out 

We are going out for pasta - it’s his favourite food.

The reservation has been made - and I’m paying.  After all, I asked him out

I have no idea what to wear, though what I’m wearing now will probably do - black pants and a shirt.  It’s nice to be going out.

Oh, and the date is with my 3.5 year old son, Z.  N is going to the Pirates of Penzance with his grandparents.
