OK, so I should have posted this on Thursday, but didn’t! lol

It was Harmony Day, so Ns much wanted dress up day.  The idea was that kids dress in a National Outfit, or dress in orange.  The only thing I could think of for Australia was a swaggy.  So, we found a checked shirt (it was 35degrees, so flanellette was out!), but he refused to wear his orange one, so we settled for blue.  And he had to wear long jeans, refused the shorts!  He even made himself a swag (one of Mummy’s scarves tied onto a stick).  We even drew on a stubble beard with eyeliner!

That’s where the problem started - corks on his hat… we had a hat.  We had string.  We had staples for attaching the strings.  But I couldn’t find any corks!  It’s not that I don’t drink wine - I do - but lately they all had screw tops 

So, being the Real Mum that I am, I stapled tea bags to Ns school hat!  It did the job well, and N was a very proud swagman.

Oh, and Mummy had to carry his school bag to school that morning, cos after all, he couldn’t carry his swag AND his school bag.
