How do you get lipstick out of carpet?
14 03 2007Monday Feb 8 - young Z was put to bed. He did his usual yo-yo trick, and then was quiet - we thought he was either asleep, or finally playing quietly. I should add, he’s currently sleeping in my room as he and his brother muck around way too much!
I peek in and think he’s playing, then I work out - he’s got my lipstick!!!! And he’s happily "painting" a spare pillow, his bedsheets, the carpet, and himself! (I have a photo, but it’s not taken with the digital camera… so I’ll scan it when it’s been developed.)
Z got in sooo much trouble! He was told to sit still on the floor of the bathroom while we cleaned him up. The problem was - we couldn’t stop laughing!
When he was in bed again, I spent the rest of the evening dabbing at lipstick with eucalyptus oil… But it’s still stained.
For future reference - does anyone know how to get lipstick out of carpet? And does anyone know where I can get a make up case with a 3 year old proof lock?
Nope no ideas here but the mental image of a youngester having fun with lippy gives me a giggle. Good luck getting it out!

The speed cleaning book recommends Dry Cleaning Fluid. I would probably test it in the wardrobe or carpet offcut first though.
yea, mummycoco has been preaching to me about this carpet cleaner which I think is a dry cleaning kind of fluid thing - im going to try and get some over the next couple of days, ill come back and let you know what it is!!
