Ok, so I’m a bit of a wuss… I’m too embarrassed to nominate myself for the Real Mum of the Year award!  So, I thought I’d make it easy for someone else to nominate me by posting some of the reasons I’m a Real Mum here…

Advice?Well there are 2:

1. Take all the advice given, say thank you to the advice giver, and then do whatever you like
2. It’s only fun until someone loses an eye!

Why am I a Real Mum?

Well, you can get a good idea from reading my MumSpace…  but here are a few more reasons!

• Mixing up the boys names
• I let the boys play pirates, complete with swords they have made from pipe cleaners, straws, or whatever else they can find!
• Often I wake up in the morning to find Z is sleeping with me - and I didn’t notice he’d come in to bed with me!
• N has the same thing in his lunch every day…
• I never make the beds - unless the sheets have just been changed
• Z rarely gets lunch when he’s at home - his sleep time is usually 11.30-1.30 - and I forget to feed him!
• Neither of my kids has had an accidental broken bone… yet!
• If they have a "hurt" - it doesn’t warrent too much attention unless there is blood, or a very loud bang

OK, so that’s more than 3-5 examples….

Why do I deserve to be Real Mum Of the Year?

I deserve to be RMOTY because of all the above, and my philosophy that a band aid can fix just about anything - which might be why my kids are constantly covered in Wiggles or Seseme Street band aids!  I also accept that I am ME, and not my Mother, or anyone else, and the way I parent is the best way for me and my kids.  My kids are the light of my life, and sometimes I need time out for myself so I can be the best Mum I can possibly be
