Mixing up names…
6 03 2007I have a confession - from the day Z was born, I have mixed up N & Zs names! I often call one of them by the other’s name - and then get frustrated when the one I want doesn’t answer!
I’m coming to realise this is just part of being the parent of more than 1 child! Either that or it’s hereditary…
My Dad would always mix up the names of me & my siblings! By by the time he started mixing in the names of the dog, cat and chook, we knew he was being silly! lol
I know it’s not deliberate, the whole mixing names thing, and I know other parents do it too. And it’s got nothing to do with whether we have a favourite or anything like that. It’s just something that happens.
Though, why the kids can’t read my mind so they know who I mean is a mystery!
Tha’ts why my kids are both called “Matey”!!!!!!!!!!

My dad’s name is Bruce, my uncle is Barry and my cousin is Brett. Everytime my aunty would yell at Brett, it would always be “Bruce, no Barry, argh BRETT!!!”
I’m glad I’m not the only one!
