Uses for eye make up remover

25 03 2007

Following Ns make up job for his dressup day on Thursday, the boys were in the bath.

Both boys had temporary tattoos on that they received at a birthday party last Sunday - Z had his on his tummy (his arm was too small!) and N had two on his arm.

I got the eye makeup remover out to remove N’s make up beard - after all, it was eye liner.  I removed his beard successfully and ...

Damn those screw-top wine bottles!

25 03 2007

OK, so I should have posted this on Thursday, but didn’t! lol

It was Harmony Day, so Ns much wanted dress up day.  The idea was that kids dress in a National Outfit, or dress in orange.  The only thing I could think of for Australia was a swaggy.  So, we found a checked shirt (it was 35degrees, so flanellette was out!), but he refused to wear his orange one, so we settled for blue.  And ...

TV Channels…

17 03 2007

We bought our TV about 11 years ago for $50 from Blockbuster Video - they were upgrading their systems & were selling off TVs cheap.

Over the years, little fingers have pushed in most of the channel buttons, so the only way to change channel is to use a stick, pencil or chopstick.

This morning, the TV kept jumping to channel 4 (aka channel 9) instead of channel 8 - the one we use to watch video’s ...

How do you get lipstick out of carpet?

14 03 2007

Monday Feb 8 - young Z was put to bed.  He did his usual yo-yo trick, and then was quiet - we thought he was either asleep, or finally playing quietly.  I should add, he’s currently sleeping in my room as he and his brother muck around way too much!

I peek in and think he’s playing, then I work out - he’s got my lipstick!!!!  And he’s happily "painting" a spare pillow, his bedsheets, the ...

Long weekends

13 03 2007

We’ve just had a long weekend in Melbourne… N is NOT impressed - he missed out on Assembly on Monday, and his show and tell.

Last week, N was awarded Student of the Week for showing the value of Self Reliance.  He is always the first to have his bag packed and ready to go home, and his teacher can always rely in him to help out and pack up after activities.  His Student of the ...

Cheapskate Tooth Fairy

6 03 2007

One one forum I’m on, our Tooth Fairy has been accused of being a Cheapskate because she only brings N 50cents per tooth.  So, I thought I would publicly defend our Tooth Fairy to those who give $2, $5 or even $10 a tooth!

It’s simple - N likes "big monies".  $2 coins are way too small, and notes aren’t "real monies".  As far as N is concerned, a 50cent coin is the biggest "monies" you ...

Mixing up names…

6 03 2007

I have a confession - from the day Z was born, I have mixed up N & Zs names!  I often call one of them by the other’s name - and then get frustrated when the one I want doesn’t answer!

I’m coming to realise this is just part of being the parent of more than 1 child!  Either that or it’s hereditary…

My Dad would always mix up the names of me & my siblings!  By ...

Managing without a car

3 03 2007

onehautemama asked in my School Photo’s how I manage without a car.  It’s mostly that I don’t own a car - I do have access to my parents car if I really need one.

However, school is about a 7 minute walk from home, and daycare is a 20 minute walk.  Last year kinder was also a 7 minute walk.  We have a fantastic group of shops near us that includes a ...

Why do I have my MumSpace?

1 03 2007

This is part of the Business Mums Network blogging challenge.

Why do I MumSpace?  Simple really.  Mostly it’s for fun, and to share with you stuff about me and my kids, and occasionally my business :)

Also because I do have a muddled mind, and needed somewhere fun to let it all out.  After all, some of this stuff is not appropriate for a business blog…

Why do I read other MumSpaces?  ...
